To answer Great Sage Figg's question: Ninja's don't protect people; they
kill people. By protecting others and/or himself, the ninjas is not acting as a ninja
qua ninja, and is therefore logically impossible (and thus vanishes in a puff of logic and/or smoke). I suppose we could then ask the question, "If an ninja kills only those who do not kill themselves, can that ninja kill himself?" The answer is yes, provided he is wearing gold lamé.
