Just wanted to let everyone know that we now have a supply of SMAK Sticks with our own private label.  These are the best training sticks I have ever seen by far!   I am very pleased with them.  We will have them up on the site next week.  Aloha!

Hi Burton, great news, as I was going to get some for class.  I will be checking for when they are available.

I'm glad you are going to be having some made with JKDU logos as I have a club I run that is going to be purchasing Smakstiks as our main training implement for Kali and I would like to purchase them with the JKDU logo. (Guess I should talk to you about becoming an "official" JKDU Club)

You are welcome anytime O&F.   I said "logo", but actually it is a nice font with Battlefield Kali written on the reflective label.  It came out very nice.  We do need a good logo, though.  Maybe we need to get going on that too!

I have just recieved a pair of the sticks, and I must say they are the BOMB!!
Everyone needs these if they are serious about contact training contact with sticks.

What are the differences between these and actionflex?  Are the better?  Are they the same?

I have had Lameco training sticks, some home made ones, Century and the I&I training sticks.  The Battlefield Kali sticks are superior.  Haven't had any Action flex, but I would guess they are not as good for overall training.

Is gear  (helmet, gloves, etc.) necessary when using the "Battlefield Kali" sticks?

The actionflex I like.  They stay straight, you can hit full contact with no pads.  The only danger is the rubber handles sometimes hurt people on the hands when weird things happen.

You can do hand sparring without head gear, but I to really get the most benefit you need to get helmets and hand protection.  (You should also have groin protection!!!!)  I really like these sticks too, although I can't compare them to Actionflex, as I haven't used them.  Aloha!
