To quote new JKDU Instructor John Robinson, "WOW!"
Thanks to everyone for making the effort to visit Hawaii for the camp. Special thanks to Egan Inuoe, Chris Haueter, and Colin Chock for teaching great sessions. They were very well received.
Gigantic congratulations to Brandon Bosworth, John Robinson, Terry Lewis, and Ozzie Rodriguez. They passed the JKD Unlimited instructor test with tremendous performances! 7 great rounds of hard fighting!!!!  Full Instructor Jose Fernandez from Switzerland said, "They really raised the standard for the level one instructor test."  Jose was right!
More gigantic congratulations to JKDU instructor Juan Perez for taking and passing an arduous test to be promoted to Purple Belt in BJJ FTS. Juan had undergone shoulder surgery recently, but still insisted on taking the test. Even though his movement was limited, he did very, very well. Quite impressive, especially his submission from the guard! Wow!
Congratulations also to Jose Fernandez for his promotion to Purple Belt in BJJ FTS. He is an amazing grappler. His skill has been at the purple belt level for quite some time, but he had not done much gi work. I told him to spend a lot of time training in the gi and he loves it. His gi work was outstanding.
It was a great time, meeting wonderful people and reconnecting with others. Actually, there are two words to describe the camp: Wow! and Fantastic!

Congratulations to Brandon, John, Terry, and Ozzie on passing your Instructor Level 1 test!  I'm sure José's quote says it all.  After Burton administered my JKDU instructor test in 2000, I believe he turned to Sarah and said something like, "You know, we really should raise the standards for these things." Very Happy

Congratulations to Juan and José on earning your purple belts!

Thanks to everyone who came, we had a great time.  Testing was awesome ... now the exciting challenge begins of getting our students even better, thus raising the bar higher.

Burton, also don't forget Full Instructor Jose Fernandez earned his Battlefield Kali Instructor Certification, with a tremendous performance!

John, thanks for noting Jose's outstanding performance in his BK single stick Instructor test. He showed exceptional skill. (And Scott was pretty awesome in some of those rounds too!)
Jim, pretty funny, but we all know that your test was very, very good.  Very Happy
We shall all continue to improve.   As long as we are training with resistance, doing our research, and striving to move beyond old borders, we cannot help but move foreward. Go to it you martial scientists!

GB,

Is there a remote chance that there will be an extended DVD about the camp? Or highlights on several of the monthly DVDs?

And congratulations to all who took instructor tests!
