How many times do I have to tell them to wear their helmets?

Looks like they have bad posture and are most certainly overextending their reach. Yes great job by the officer!

They should send Cr8 to Cairo with a shield and one of those hickory sticks.

Not if you're in a riot. Check this out: Stick Happens! I'm new to this forum, but I thought this would be an appropriate place to introduce myself. This is exactly one of the reasons why I train! In my line of work, I encounter masses of stick armed people facing one another. Only, in such cases those sticks are called picket signs, flag posts, and even drum sticks. Pretty much anything that can be taken apart and used as a weapon WILL be so used in a riot or civil disturbance. Some of the "frequent flyers" have pretty sophisticated skills with a stick, having never trained kali or other systems a day in their life.

Welcome Justin! And thank you for doing the work that you do. I've seen some of those "frequent flyers" in Europe. They live for creating disturbances. Glad to have you here.

I second the notion on European rioters! Some of the best stickfighters I've ever seen were in Hamburg, Germany during the May 1 Riots last year. They used weapon retention, small group skirmishing techniques, and even instinctive crashing roof-blocks, all without a single day in the gym. There is a "tradition" to publish photos of the confiscated weapons in the paper the next morning. It looked like a medieval arms collection. Yet, another reminder that experiential learning and application against resistance begets skill!

I hope the upcoming APEC isn't too radical. HPD, FIRE and EMS stay safe.
