@Guro Burton - It looks like the pics might be on Facebook, maybe in his profile or the "Beat the Crap Out of Cancer" page on Facebook.

Just a short note... since the event has been rescheduled the name has been changed as well.
The new name is Beat Cancer 808: Martial Artists' Sticking It to Cancer.
Beat The Crap Out of Cancer is trademarked and I don't want to create any kind of conflict. I'm not sure if well work with them next year to host the same event or if well continue to do our own thing, either way all is good.

The Hawaii Children's Cancer Foundation is still on board with us.  We are going to keep this event simple and fun.
Looking forward to my wiffleball bat match with Shelton and just meeting some of the the other JKDU peeps.

Aloha!

The Beat Cancer event is this Saturday. Hoping that some more JKDU people will come out and participate.
Being that its kind of late notice, if you would like to come out and participate the please come on out and since it is too late to gather sponsors then there will be a small kine fee of $15. This event isn't for my benefit, its for the Hawaii Childrens Cancer Foundation.  This event can also be a chance for people to step outside their comfort zone and spar people from other systems and a few of us who have been to Dog Brother gatherings.  Not saying we are going to get crazy and beat each other up. This is a chance to spar other people without having to enter a tournament or abide by tournament rules because this isn't a tournament, there are no winners or losers no weight classes and so forth. I'm not here to bash tournaments either, I like participating them for various reasons. So anyway if interested hit me up on facebook - www.facebook.com/rlkoenig   Spectators will be expected to make a small monetary ($10) donation, like I said none of this goes into my pocket, Im just trying to raise some money for a good cause.

Maybe this clip will wet your appetite... its from the DBMA "documentary" and just happened to be my first gathering.

Guro Burton the event will take place Saturday December 10th at the Central Oahu Regional Park

http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=94-801+Kamehameha+Hwy,+Waipahu,+Hawaii+96797+%28Central+Oahu+Regional+Park%29&daddr=21.411503,-158.003681&hl=en&ll=21.411545,-158.003689&spn=0.002202,0.004128&sll=21.411748,-158.003612&sspn=0.004405,0.008256&geocode=Ce-lgUU9EbOOFQ7GRgEddgWV9iG7OSy1S_mIvg%3B&vpsrc=6&mra=mift&mrsp=1&sz=18&t=h&z=19

Now I know the link is ugly but if you click on it you will see the marker \ pin in Green and if you zoom out you can see how to get to the area depending on which way you enter the park.  Please come on out and participate even if its only one match of knife sparring, just donate $5 to the cause and get some if you want to participate in stick and knife then please donate a little more NONE of this money goes into my pocket, it all goes to the Hawaii Childrens Cancer Foundation.

Hi Scott,
We start at 10am, once I gather forms and donation and then get everyone on video stating that they agree not sue anyone and that "you are responsible for you" then well start. We don't have that many fighters so I'm thinking well be out of there by 1 or 130 at the latest.
