I just got back from Las Vegas doing the photo shoot for the new book, so I can't go. Kawika might be there, and maybe one or two others. Enjoy it and let us know how it went.

Hi, Terry.  Tobias Gibson will be there: he's a JKDU Instructor Level 1 and a group leader for Dog Brothers Martial Arts.

I'll let Tobias tell you the full story, but it seems like he had a great time and represented us well at the Gathering.  CNN was apparently filming and conducting some interviews, so hopefully we'll get to see some footage soon.  I tried searching the CNN website for "stick fight" and the first search result I got was entitled "Smart Ways to Keep Your Marriage Healthy."  I can't wait to show my wife.   Laughing

I'm glad it went so well. 60 competitors! That must have been something to see.

It was a blast.  It was a pleasure to watch Terry and Tobias both fight.  I got over the jitters and stepped out there to cross sticks against Louis of the North Hollywood Clan.  A very great learning experiance!  Can't wait for the highlight video.

CNN has coverage of the gathering up on their website: http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/us/2011/12/01/dog-brothers-martial-arts.cnn

JKDU's very own Tobias Gibson is featured prominently (look for the guy with the epic goatee whose interview begins at about 1:41).  Keep in mind when watching the footage that all of Tobias' stick fights were with full Dog Brothers, including Poi Dog, who showed him the aloha spirit Very Happy.  Nice work, Tobias!

I thought Tobias did a great job vs Poi Dog!
