How and what techniques are you applying? Are you studying Krabi krabong?

peregrine.

i asked the teacher to show me only sabers (Daab or something like that in thai) stuff since i cant take very ofthen classes , once or twice a month and to cause i want techniques i can apply whit a stick. there is very few techniques basicaly in krabikrabong but many weapons that you use whit the same or almost the same motions. i blend it whit some of Guru Burton kali techniques and training methods and it works great when sparring.

José , tu peux me parler en français , je suis québécois Smile

There is krabi krabong in Battlefield Kali. The front kicks and round kicks are from the Thai system. After Tuhon Inosanto was certified in the system in Thailand back in the 80's, we had a special class for several months where we worked the basics, mainly with sticks. Basic, strong moves that can work very well as part of an overall approach.
Great you are training it Marcus!

yes its true Guru Burton , actualy the kicking in krabikrabong is the one that make the most sense to me , other syle that add kicks in there system have a big chance of loosing it when they kick if they where fighting against bladed weapons or receiving a stick blow on it.

i didnt know that Tuhon Inosanto trained in that system, but i know the dog bothers have a bit of it and one of the original ones was using it heavily.

Marcus,
Salty Dog (Arlan Sanford) learned first through Tuhon Inosanto. Tuhon Inosanto made several trips to Thailand to the main school of Krabi Krabong, trained all day long for weeks at a time, then came home and practiced diligently. The kicks are good as long as there is no blade involved.

Didn't Tuhon say his wife was better at Krabi Krabong than he was, but he was ranked higher because he was male?

Seems I remember him saying that at the seminar Burton hosted here in Honolulu.

i guess it goes whit things like they dont let girls touch the ring of the lumpini stadium and things like that .

traditionnal discrimination:P, but i dont understand why it is or was like that for krabikrabong since they use it more for shows then anything else.
