Greetings of Peace!!
I have a question regarding knife disarm using two on one. What will you gonna do if the two on one disarm fails due to the arm size and strength of the attacker?
I have a training partner and he have a big size of arm because he's fat and his arm is really slippery!! I got the two on one but as soon as he pulls it back for another stab I easily loose my grip. However if other person with just a small arm which I can really get a nice hold, I can hold it for a longer period in contrary with big fat arm!
Thanks guys!
Ingat! God bless through his Son Yahshua!

A Headbutt on the way in has a very persuasive way of taking their mind off any further action.

thank you ken! hmm! but the other possible negative effect to oneself is that there is the applicant may stun itself when headbutt is applied which make you little dizzy which losses your concentration for a flash of seconds in that precious and delicate time where knife is involve.

Good question. Depends on how one does a headbutt, yes you can stun yourself. Not saying you may get a bump on the old noggin. Use the side of the head/crown against their face, which is softer.

You should check youtube for various 2on1 and look at the body mechanics.

Good question Michael. If the arm is slippery it makes it all much more difficult. If you can't maintain the grip, your only defense is to do your best to block while trying to strike very hard. and create an escape route.
If you get the 2 on 1 but the opponent is too strong to move his arm, that is when you resort to biting his arm to try to weaken him. We usually avoid biting, due to disease, but he is trying to kill you and you can't get the disarm. Time to bite!
Good job practicing with resistance! This is where the truth is revealed.

Not sure exactly which disarm you are referring to, but apart from the 2 on 1, a control position that has also worked for me (difficult to explain....) is, when facing him, grab hold of the arm and then do a kind of left overhook of the (right handed) knife arm close to the wrist (knife behind your shoulder) while grabbing hold of his arm, and with your right arm a low underhook on the knife arm, above but close to the elbow, while controlling the elbow, and then pull his arm in close to your body, while you are trying to move him around to unbalance him and from here create an escape route. This way he has to deal with all of your body weight and you can control his elbow so that it is more difficult for him to get his arm out. Not such a great position for a disarm maybe, but initially to control the knife arm, it has worked for me.

We call that the inside Russian 2 on 1. That does come up and is a very good control, but as you mentioned, there is no disarm available. This is why I suggest a quick transition to the regular 2 on 1 so that disarms are available as well. Thanks for posting!
