First off let me say I have been in and out of martial arts since I was 17, now 32. I do have some pretty good knowledge and training but never have recieved a rank of any kind. I love JKD the best out of everything I have done, but I have no formal training under an instructor and learn a lot from dvd's from this site as well as others. What am I, do I consider myself A JKD guy even though I do not have the papers to show it. I do train the way you guys do and I teach others self defense. I guess I can say I train in JKD theory.

To me, the most important thing is the way you train.  Your "rank" will be evident by your student's ability to apply their training in sparring.  If you tell people that you teach JKD without having been certified, there will be a whole bunch of people screaming at you.  But, I like to point out that Bruce Lee was never certified in anything.  He just trained very well and constantly improved.  Probably best to say that your are following JKD theory.
