Our Hawaii training camp was such a success! Great people. Great instruction. Great training.

Many of our MMA For The Street performance group leaders and Instructors made the trip.
Terry Lewis from California, John Robinson from Rhode Island and Osvaldo Rodriguez from New Jersey  as well as Brandon Bosworth student at the Headquarters passed their MMA For The Street Instructor Level 1 test with flying colors. (we will post the video of their tests asap)

Jose Fernandez, Full Instructor in our MMA For The Street program is now also an Instructor level 1 in our Battlefield Kali Single Stick module and authorized representative for our Battlefield Kali knife module. Jose was also awared his purple belt in our BJJ For The Street module.

Juan Perez from North Carolina and long time JKD Unlimited affiliate also passed his purple belt test in BJJ For The Street.

We had a member fly from South Korea and another from San Diego, California. We also many of our headquarters students join in the fun.

They all go a a sneak peak of Burton Richardson’s new Silat For The Street program and enjoyed the guest Instructors we had lined up: BJJ Black Belts Chris Haueter and Egan Inoue.

We are so proud of all our students and instructors. Great job everyone!

Burton Richardson will be teaching 2 Silat seminars in the next few weeks which will introduce the general public to his brand new Functional Silat For The Street training module.

Chris “The Crippler” Leben is one of the UFC’s most unpredictable fighters. He has long been known for a supposed uncontrollable intensity that seems to ignite as soon as he steps into the cage. Based on that train of thought, Leben has made one of the most unlikely, yet genius, decisions in his career. He has enlisted the help of a virtual encyclopedia of martial arts.

Burton Richardson is one of the worlds most knowledgeable trainers and is now feeding that knowledge to the Crippler himself. With Leben under the wing of Burton Richardson, it will be hard to see any challenge too tough for him in the future. Burton has so many credentials that we at MMA Hawaii deemed it necessary to put him in the September issue of MMA Hawaii Magazine. Check out the new weapon in Chris Lebens arsenal when the issue hit’s the stands.

Our movie: MMA Streetfighter-One Percent Full won the award for best fight choreography in a martial arts movie at the Action on Film International Film Festival in Los Angeles. The Award ceremony was held on July 30th, 2009 in Los Angeles and one of our investors, Levi B., was able to attend and receive the award on behalf of the entire crew.

Congratulations to JKD Unlimited Instructor Chris Lund from Grayslake, Illinois who was promoted to Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu by Charuto Verissimo of Nova Uniao in July 2009.

Chris is a great student and teacher of the arts and deserves this recognition of his talent and skill.

We would like to congratulate Aoatoa Afuola for passing his Instructor Level 1 test in our JKD Unlimited/MMA For Street Self Defense program. Ao took his test at the Honolulu Headquarters on May 12th, 2009 and did a fantastic job. He will be moving back to Samoa on a military assignment.
The video footage of his test will soon be  posted on our Videos page.
