There are many dedicated martial artists around the world who wish that they could lead a group in JKD Unlimited/MMA For Street Self DefenseTM, but are not yet prepared to take the instructor test. If you are one of those dedicated martial artists then the Perfomance Group Program is for you. The idea behind the program is to support you in your quest to become a Jeet Kune Do Unlimited/MMA For Street Self DefenseTM instructor by giving you permission to lead a group in our training methods and curriculum. We supply the most up to date techniques and training methods so that you can train with your partners in a manner that they improve and you improve to the point that you can take and pass the Jeet Kune Do Unlimited/MMA For Street Self DefenseTM instructor test. I hope this program helps you to become your very best, and that it will help you to attract quality training partners while allowing you to share and practice what you know. Whether you already own a school, or are part of a backyard group, JKD Unlimited/MMA For Street Self DefenseTM is here to help you reach your goal of being a High Performance fighter and coach. WHO IS THIS PROGRAM FOR?
Anyone dedicated to training realistically and becoming a JKD Unlimited/MMA For Street Self DefenseTM instructor/representative whether a professional school owner or someone training at home. As long as you at least one training partner and are willing to teach, this program is for you.
HOW MUCH TRAINING EXPERIENCE DO I NEED TO HAVE?
As long as you want to train realistically and improve, and you are interested in sharing what you learn, you are a candidate for the program.
CAN I CHARGE THE OTHER MEMBERS FOR THE TRAINING?
Yes. We encourage you to do so. You will find that those who are not willing to pay do not value the training. We want you to work with people who appreciate the training. In addition to the class fee which goes to you, each member of the group will be required to sign up for the basic membership of our distance learning program.
HOW MUCH DOES THE PERFORMANCE GROUP PROGRAM COST?
We charge only for the High Performance program, our most complete distance learning program, through which you will receive a monthly DVD. All the other added benefits are offered at no extra charge as a reward for your commitment to JKD Unlimited/MMA For Street Self DefenseTM. You will be required to purchase the Quickstart Basic DVD as well so you can get started on the curriculum and take your Quickstart Basic Test within 6 weeks.
HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO COMMIT FOR?
We give you a 2-month trial before you commit. We like to give you the time to make sure we are right for you and we also want to have a better feel for each performance group leader before we make their affiliation official.You will have to take and pass the Quickstart Basic Test within the 2-month trial. After the trial, you are required to make a one year commitment at first. Of course, we hope that our training relationship will last a lifetime.
WHAT HAPPENS ONCE I BECOME A CERTIFIED JKD UNLIMITED/MMA For Street Self DefenseTM INSTRUCTOR?
You can continue leading your JKD Unlimited/MMA For Street Self DefenseTM group, but with the added benefits that certification provides.
RULES
- You will receive all of the benefits of the High Performance program including newsletters, monthly videos, private e-mail access and phone consultations. In addition you will receive help with adult training curriculum information, training methods, etc., and you will be listed on our website as a Performance Group Leader thus instantly benefiting from the outstanding reputation of Jeet Kune Do Unlimited/MMA For Street Self DefenseTM. Your listing will be posted after a 2-month trial period. You are granted permission to teach the JKD Unlimited/MMA For Street Self DefenseTM curriculum even though you are not yet a certified instructor.
- Only the Performance Group Leader is required to sign up for the High Performance program. However, ALL other members of the group must become members of the JKD Unlimited/MMA For Street Self DefenseTM Association immediately after they join the group (Basic program). Only association members may train in the Jeet Kune Do Unlimited/MMA For Street Self DefenseTM curriculum and test for rank.
- You will be able to purchase the Quickstart curriculum DVDs and instantly have access to our program for adults. This will provide you with a map for teaching your group and will be invaluable for your own training and to help you coach your students. You also receive a discount on the Quickstart curriculum DVDs.
- We have been working on a rotating curriculum that will incorporate all of the techniques, performance games and training methods that make up the Quickstart program. This rotating curriculum will allow a teacher to know exactly what he will be teaching every single class without any extra work. The class planning is done for you. This also ensures that every student learns the entire curriculum, increases student retention and allows you to train staff members to teach while upholding a high standard of instruction and a proper progression.
Our rotating curriculum will be available to JKD Unlimited/MMA For Street Self DefenseTM Instructors and Performance Group Leader only for an additional fee. - If you wish to teach JKD Unlimited/MMA For Street Self DefenseTM to children, please contact us. We have set up a special curriculum/ranking system so you can be competitive with other more traditional martial arts programs. The modifications take into consideration the different level of maturity of children, the need for greater discipline enforcement and a more regular testing schedule to keep up their motivation.
Our JKD Unlimited/MMA For Street Self DefenseTM for Children is available for an additional fee. - If you choose to continue training in other arts, please make sure that you are clear with your training partners and/or students about what is JKD Unlimited/MMA For Street Self DefenseTM material and what is not. We require that you set separate training sessions for separate curriculi to keep clarity amongst the members of your group. If you own a school and wish to teach a JKD Unlimited/MMA For Street Self DefenseTM class, please make sure you call that class “Jeet Kune Do Unlimited class/MMA For Street Self DefenseTM” so it is clear as to whom you’re getting the curriculum from. We also require that you include a bio of Burton Richardson as part of the description of this class.
- Being accepted as a Performance Group Leader does NOT make one a Jeet Kune Do Unlimited/MMA For Street Self DefenseTM instructor. We expect you to be honest about this and not advertise as a certified representative. We will be providing you with a logo to advertise your current status with the JKD Unlimited/MMA For Street Self DefenseTM association. This logo must be listed on all advertising, publications (such as flyers, newsletters…) and on your website. We require that all other advertising and/or projects involving JKD Unlimited/MMA For Street Self DefenseTM (blogs, websites,video clips, ads etc…) to be submitted to us for review prior to being made public.
