CURRICULUM DVDs

These are the DVDs that explain the requirements for each level. The techniques and training methods are demonstrated and explained so that students can progress faster by practicing at home. There is one DVD for each level, and the DVDs are available only to members of JKD Unlimited/MMA For Street Self Defense. See our MMA For Street Self Defense section for more information.

JKD Unlimited/MMA For Street Self Defense TESTS

These are exams to make sure that the student knows and can demonstrate the material at the corresponding level of proficiency. Without testing, the student may not know how much progress has been made and the teacher may not be sure what the student knows. These tests provide short-term goals to help the student eventually reach the long-term goal of being a High Performance Martial Artist. Video testing to go through the levels is also available to members who do not train with a performance group leader or instructor. JKD UNLIMITED NEWSLETTER

The quarterly newsletter will be a means of keeping up with what is going on around the world with JKDU. Articles will be written by students and teachers from all corners of the earth. You will also get seminar info, and other pertinent news. We want every member to be part of the family, and this is a good way of getting to know others who are practicing the arts.

EXCLUSIVE E-MAIL ACCESS

Members of the High Performance Program will be given a special e-mail address to reach Burton Richardson with any questions about training, teaching, etc. Messages will be answered promptly by e-mail, or the member can use his/her free phone consultation if the question needs more in depth explanation.

PHONE CONSULTATIONS

This is your chance to talk to Burton Richardson on the phone to ask for advice on techniques, training methods, and teaching methods. Burton Richardson will answer all of your questions to the best of his ability, and give you direction in your training. Phone consultations can also be purchased in 20-minute increments, and have proven valuable to those who have tried this method of guidance.

STUDENT REFERRAL PROGRAM

We get calls and letters from all over the United States from people who are looking for a qualified instructor. This program offered to JKD Unlimited performance group leaders and instructors will help to facilitate student acquisition.

MONTHLY INSTRUCTIONAL DVDs

The monthly DVDs are for people who want to keep up with the latest developments in techniques, training methods, and tactics. Burton Richardson shoots the DVD in the middle of each month, displaying the latest results of his research in all the ranges. He also goes over the basics in great detail, as details are what often make the difference between being able to perform the technique against an unwilling opponent, and missing the opportunity. No matter where you live, you can be up to date with the most current functional techniques that have been proven to work against an unwilling opponent. You can also send in requests for future DVDs, making this close to a private lesson experience at a fraction of the cost. DVD menu allows very easy review of all the material.
